The sand suede chukka is the warm-weather end of the catalog. Two eyelets, low ankle shaft, crepe sole, soft leather lining.

The upper is full nap suede in a warm sand — pale enough to read clean with white denim and chinos, warm enough to sit alongside the cognac chelsea without clashing. The sole is crepe rubber, soft and quiet, set on a low stacked heel. Construction is welted. The last is the Hampton, the same rounded last as the calf chelsea, so the chukka and chelsea wear interchangeably on the same foot.

The chukka for the long-walk wardrobe — March through October, with denim or with a linen suit. Built for men who walk in their boots.

Brush after wear. Condition with neutral cream once a season. Store with cedar shoe trees. Avoid water and salt.

Resoling. The welt allows the sole to be replaced when the upper still has life left. Take a worn pair to any cobbler in the United States — welted construction is the standard heritage every cobbler knows. We do not run a mail-in service at launch.

ON THE BENCH

WELTED, NOT GLUED

The welt is the leather strip that holds the upper to the sole. It is stitched, not glued. The lockstitch row is visible at the base of every Yardlow & Sons boot. When the sole wears, it can be replaced. The upper keeps going.
