The moc toe is the American counterpart to the chelsea. We make it because the catalog is not finished without one.

The upper is waxed brown leather. The toe is hand-moccasin-stitched in cream contrast thread — the classic moc-toe signature. The sole is a lugged rubber wedge for grip on wet pavement and rough trail alike. Welted construction, replaceable sole, leather midsole. The last is the Drover — more volume in the toe box than the chelsea, room for thick wool socks in winter.

Resoling. The welt allows the sole to be replaced when the upper still has life left. Take a worn pair to any cobbler in the United States — welted construction is the standard heritage every cobbler knows. We do not run a mail-in service at launch.

The welt is the leather strip that holds the upper to the sole. It is stitched, not glued. The lockstitch row is visible at the base of every Yardlow & Sons boot. When the sole wears, it can be replaced. The upper keeps going.
